I truly believe there is certain styles that wok better than others. I would research schools that have been successful academically and see what styles they have use and the student parent involvement. I wonder what the relation to parent involvement has along with teaching styles.Does the school climate and culture tie into the teaching style.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting topic. I think that when you are making comparisons to other schools or districts that you need to try and take into account the students learning in previous grades. As you said, your students are coming to you extremely low already, if you try to compare them to students who are at grade level or above then your results will not be accurate. I also think you need to make sure that you are comparisons are with schools that match demographically or again the results may not be accurate. Hopefully that's helpful.
ReplyDeleteI like your topic because it is important for all students to get the foundations in math and reading. It may be better to research one subject at a time, math or reading, to make your project more focused. Taking on too subjects might be too much at one time. I am interested in reading your research...good luck :)
